Arena Open-Air mit ED SHEERAN! Einzige Österreich-Show in diesem Jahr!
14.03.2014

BIOGRAPHY
Ed Sheeran has come a long way since his sofa surfing days and selling CDs from his backpack. From playing around 300 small UK shows in 2011 to selling out multiple tours - including five sold out Hammersmith Apollo dates on his last UK tour - the Suffolk native has not only become a huge hit in the UK, his success has rippled across the world.
Following a handful of independent EP releases, Sheeran’s major label debut ‘+’ was released in the UK in September 2011 and he hasn’t looked back since. The album, which is now six times platinum with nearly two million sales, debuted at #1 in the Official UK Charts upon release and reclaimed the #1 title at the turn of 2012. This, and the 2.8 million single sales of which 4 were in the Top 10, meant Ed had the highest opening sales for a debut male solo artist in the UK ever. Furthermore, his music has been recognised within the industry including two BRIT Awards wins for ‘Best Male’ and ‘Best Breakthrough Act’ and a prestigious Ivor Novello Award for ‘The A Team.’
In 2013, Sheeran proceeded to take his success stateside. He joined Taylor Swift on her 70 date US tour as well as featuring on her single ‘Everything Has Changed’. Furthermore, the Grammy nominated superstar went on to sell out three Madison Square Garden shows the same year. Now, Sheeran is back with no signs of slowing down. In the first week of January 2014, he announced his first UK headline tour since 2012, including four O2 Arena dates and confirmed that he is adding the finishing touches to his next album. Speaking of the announcements Ed said, ‘ I can't wait to tour this new record, it's been a long time coming. Looking forward to touring the UK and Ireland once again!’’
