The National confirmed to headline INmusic festival #16!
20.10.2023

The National are without a doubt fan favourites among Croatian concert-goers whose love and devotion for the band has been unwavering since their first and by now mythical performance at Zagrebs KSET back in 2004.
Thanks to Zedno uho and the band repeated returns to the local stages over the past twenty years, the band has built a loyal and solid fanbase which keeps growing by each new appearance and transcending set. Since their last Croatian show in 2018, promoting the highly anticipated and award adorned album Sleep Well Beast, a lot has transpired from a musical development and expansion into collaborative work and guest appearances by the likes of Sharon Van Etten, Justin Vernon, Lisa Hannigan, and many more, to private struggles with depression and facing the pandemic state of mind. Although just two years ago the future of The National was uncertain and a new record seemed an unlikely reality due to a creative block and a state of disconnect among bend members, The National rebuilt their creative and personal connection through a shared musical sentiment and mutual support. The best testimony to the bands newfound creative strength lies in their release of not just one great new record in this past year, but two great records First Two Pages of Frankenstein released in April followed by the surprise release of Laugh Track in September of 2023. The Nationals new era opens with a rebuilding of trust through the making of First Two Pages of Frankenstein which serves as a sort of emotional inventory accentuated by guest appearances by Phoebe Bridgers, Sufjan Stevens and Taylor Swift while taking its full shape with the release of "Laugh Track", the bands most reckless album in years, a vibrant musical exploration and product of their newly restored faith in oneself and one another.
On the heels of the unique synergy of their latest sibling albums The National return to Croatia with a creative blaze and a special focus on the live performance and all its catalytic and cathartic potentials. With a special two hour long set at INmusic festival, The National will undoubtedly awe once again and reaffirm their status as one of the most beloved bands of our generation.
